I studied cello at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for 5 years, graduating with a GRNCM and a Post Graduate Diploma in Performance.

Over the next 10 years I played with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle Orchestra as well as various freelance orchestras. During this time I also had a position in the Northern Ballet and Scottish Ballet Orchestras. 

Following these busy years I moved to North Yorkshire after being appointed cellist in the Scarborough Spa Orchestra, the last remaining professional Spa Orchestra in the country. This has broadened my repertoire to the lighter side of music and introduced me to composers and songs that I hadn’t explored before. I love playing these fantastic song melodies and pieces as much as I do the more standard cello repertoire.

We are dedicated to creating the perfect atmosphere at your event, no matter what that even is. We can provide music for any type of event, including but not limited to functions, corporate events, afternoon teas, and dinners. I can perform alone, accompanied by quality backing tracks, or, space allowing, can be accompanied by a pianist. Diane is more than happy to work closely with you prior to your event to make sure that the ambiance of your event is exactly as you wish it. 

Music plays a large part in many people’s lives, and also plays an important part in funerals.

Live music gives a more personal touch to any occasion. It can create a reflective atmosphere and is the perfect way to commemorate a loved one’s life and reflect their personality.

I can play procedural music and exit music, or during the service for a period of reflection. Others may prefer live background music during the wake. It may be possible to play specific requests, depending on the length of notice given, alternatively you can choose from our broad repertoire.
